Europa Rosarium Sangerhausen

A sea of millions of blooming roses: more than 8,500 types of roses from all over the world and many different epochs enchant the huge garden in the more than 1,000 year-old city of Sangerhausen. This world’s largest collection is a feast for the senses!

Barbarossa Cave

The sculpture of sleeping emperor Barbarossa in his cave is well known – but even without him the vast anhydrite cave with its multilayer play of colors of its rocks is a geological beauty.

Samson Pit St. Andreasberg

Mining industry formed the Harz region for centuries and left us some great historic sites. One of these is this former silver ore pit that belongs to the UNESCO world heritage “Upper Harz Water Regale” as a mining museum.

Unicorn Cave

A vast cave, mysterious bone fossils and a beautiful legend: the unicorn cave was well known even centuries ago. Particularly it is a lovely discovery for science – and for Harz tourists.
