Our partner
Hotel FreiWerk: our three-star superior partner hotel »FreiWerk« in Stolberg has been welcoming guests since June 2014. Relax and unwind in 18 individually designed rooms and an appealing restaurant and bar area. Enjoy the wonderful view of Stolberg from our terrace or in the forest lounges, read a book in our library or discover the region. Welcome!

DEHOGA classification: since the reopening of Schindelbruch after a comprehensive reconstruction, our hotel meets the four-star superior requirements of the German Hotel and Restaurant Federation (DEHOGA). Proving that this high service level can be achieved in a carbon-neutral way is still very important for us.
Klima-Hotels: in this hotel cooperation we network with other carbon-neutral establishments: hotels which optimize their CO2 emissions, commit to active climate protection and compensate the remaining emissions via certified and controlled projects. This relatively young cooperation was initiated by our partner viabono.
Slow Food is one of the main voices in Germany regarding the public discussion about a sustainable society – and an effective mouthpiece of conscious indulgence and responsible consumers. With the central aim to cultivate the culture of food and drink, Slow Food brings valuable network knowledge and new concepts to its cooperation with Schindelbruch. Thus we find regional providers and discover almost forgotten types of vegetables like parsley root and girasole anew!
CO2OL: as a project of ForestFinance Group focusing on environmental investment products, the CO2OL program supports reforestation projects in Panama. In this region a very considerable effect for the world’s climate is feasible with an optimal return on investment. By buying certificates, everybody can help finance the project and thus compensate his or her individual CO2 balance.
Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development rightly calls itself the greenest university in the State of Brandenburg. In the forestry management studies course, sustainable management is the focus. Additionally – and unique to Germany – a master program in Sustainable Tourism Management is being offered. Two lecturers and a graduate of the master program assisted us with our sustainability concept: Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Strasdas, Prof. Dr. Martin Guericke and Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Eke Eijgelaar.
Biosphere reservation karst landcape Southern Harz: for more than 30 years the UNESCO program “Man and the Biosphere” has been selecting model regions all over the world which jointly with their inhabitants preserve a sustainable landscape and use of resources. Our location is part of this biosphere reservation – and our concept a contribution to it.
