MEISSEN at the Kunst Hotel

The MEISSEN State Porcelain Manufactory and Ritter von Kempski Privathotels share an enthusiasm for the beautiful, the valuable and the joy of the extraordinary. That is why we have jointly developed a comprehensive MEISSEN hospitality concept exclusively for the Naturresort Schindelbruch.
This unique brand partnership combines cultural heritage, art, craftsmanship and lifestyle.
Both companies are united by their location in central Germany and share values such as quality and sustainability.

"The red MEISSEN thread that runs through the wonderful Schindelbruch nature resort is a magnificent exhibition of art and craftsmanship. The Ritter von Kempski Collection has succeeded in taking up the cultural heritage of MEISSEN at its roots and transferring it into the modern age in a highly impressive way."

The collection consists of various, specially developed wall installations made of MEISSEN porcelain, which are named after the Latin term "ars muralis ®" - art on the wall. This term can refer to wall paintings, decorations, frescoes and other decorative elements. Here at our art hotel Naturresort Schindelbruch, it stands for the visual art of interior design, which combines tradition and modernity in a unique way in our hotel rooms in the Harz Mountains. hotel rooms in the Harz and the entire hotel.

Creation of the Ritter von Kempski Collection

On works measuring almost two square metres, our guests encounter the figures from Kaendler's "Menagerie of Animals", a conceptual borrowing from the time of Augustus the Strong, Elector of Saxony in the 18th century. These figures - as well as large sculptures by other artists from the MEISSEN manufactory - are abstracted with a few brushstrokes onto a surface of architecturally composed porcelain elements in the colours white, sepia, platinum and gold.

The wall art is complemented by display cases containing the original large figures. The specially developed rear walls of these showcases illustrate the concept of "ars muralis ®", whereby the figures remain in the foreground.

The same was staged and sketched on smaller wall porcelains and round panels, for example as trilogies.

Table & board

A tableware series based on the MEISSEN "Cosmopolitan" and "Vitruv" dinnerware was developed as a special design for our luxury hotel in the Harz Mountains, which will be used exclusively in the "Silberstreif" gourmet restaurant from 2024. The design impresses with a straightforward, clear, purist design language and brings a refinement of design and craftsmanship to the table in its details - for what is probably the most beautiful form of enjoyment.

MEISSEN meets Schindelbruch
A good partnership

MEISSEN for you

A dedicated hotel shop with exclusive MEISSEN offers has been developed for guests. This makes our lifestyle hotel in the Harz Mountains the first MEISSEN brand partner in Saxony-Anhalt and probably one of the best places to buy MEISSEN porcelain. At the same time, the first "Advent Weeks" of the MEISSEN manufactory will be established as a new offer and sales format in Central Germany on 1 December 2023.

a beloved cultural asset

The state-owned MEISSEN manufactory occupies a special position among porcelain manufacturers worldwide. As the oldest porcelain manufactory in Europe, founded in 1710 by Augustus the Strong, its services, sculptures and objects have always been regarded as trend-setting. Its global reputation is based on expert craftsmanship and a long artistic tradition. The name MEISSEN stands for living Saxon cultural heritage.

The MEISSEN State Porcelain Manufactory has always pursued innovative paths - and this exclusive co-operation is no exception.
