The State Porcelain Manufactory MEISSEN and the Ritter von Kempski Private Hotels share the enthusiasm for beauty, value and the joy of the extraordinary. That is why we have jointly developed a comprehensive MEISSEN hospitality concept exclusively for the Naturresort Schindelbruch. This unique brand partnership combines cultural assets, art, craftsmanship and lifestyle. Both companies are united by their location in Central Germany and share values such as quality and sustainability.
"The red MEISSEN thread that runs through the wonderful nature resort Schindelbruch is a magnificent exhibition of arts and crafts. In a most impressive way, the Ritter von Kempski Collection has succeeded in taking up the cultural asset MEISSEN at its roots and transferring it into the modern age." Dr. Tillmann Blaschke Managing Director State Porcelain Manufactory MEISSEN
"Try, you can't copy me!" Dr. Clemens Ritter von Kempski
The collection consists of various specially designed wall installations, following the Latin called "ars muralis": the art on the wall. This term can refer to wall paintings, decorations, frescoes and other decorative elements. Here at Naturresort Schindelbruch, it stands for the visual art of interior design that combines tradition and modernity in a unique way.
On works measuring almost two square meters, guests encounter the figures of Kaendler's "Menage der Tiere," a conceptual borrowing from the time of August the Strong, Elector of Saxony in the 18th century. These figures - as well as large sculptures by other artists of the MEISSEN manufactory - are transferred to a surface abstracted by a few brushstrokes, consisting of architecturally combined porcelain elements in the colors white, sepia, platinum and gold.
The state-owned MEISSEN manufactory occupies a special position among porcelain manufactories worldwide. As the oldest porcelain manufactory in Europe, founded in 1710 by Augustus the Strong, its services, sculptures and objects have always been considered trend-setting. Its worldwide reputation is based on craftsmanship expertise and a long artistic tradition. The name MEISSEN stands for living Saxon cultural heritage.
The Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur MEISSEN has always been innovative - and this exclusive cooperation is no exception.
